pumpkins, oh my!

there are some things that just aren't home alone activities - a la single girl living alone - like carving pumpkins.

thankfully, though, i have back up families who take care of me and all of my holiday tradition needs.

we were a little late to the game come friday night... the pumpkin patches were closed and there was nothing but ugly, crooked, rotten, mushy pumpkins left at all the grocery stores.

not to be deterred, though.
we zig zagged across south jordan to find our perfect pumpkins.
{target pulled through. bless you, target.}

equipped with legit pumpkin carving tools, garbage bags, and 32 oz. of fountain diet coke, we carved.

I DID NOT MAKE THE UGLY ONE.
not the stroke victim pumpkin. let's make that clear.
i opted for the classic triangle eye + nose jack o' lantern, thank you very much.

the eyeballs are creepy, eh? it totally got swiped from the porch. hoodlums!
and mr. frankenstein potato head... used to have all of his body parts on in all the right places... until i got a hold of him.

crappy camera phone pictures, i know...
scott bennion would be ashamed. but the pumpkins are carved, the memories are made and now it's made official in blogger.

and that's what it's all about.

did you carve pumpkins?
next year there will be glitter.
