the ted baker bag needed to go back to nordstrom for minor cosmetic surgery.

i walked into the handbag department, lamented to the shop girl about its fixes and she offered to fix it right away.

she told  me, though, that it wasn't going to be picked up by the cobbler man until the weekend, so i could hang onto it until then, or i could leave it with her right then and she'd make sure it made its way into the week's fix-it pile. "some people are funny about it," she told me.

"hand over a shopping bag," i told her.

and i turned ted baker on his head and gave him a few shakes.

everything inside came pouring out in a hurricane of product and plastic.

it was the most liberating thing of my life.

and then i walked out with a paper bag on my arm just like anyone else in the store. business as usual, thankyouverymuch.

throwing an allowable fit like that was a great way to start the world's worst evening.

thank you, nordstrom shop girl.

uwaarggh! 2 hari ni aku tidor tesangat lah dasyat ..kemarin tidor 20jam.rini tidor 12 jam.xtau la cover benda pa.but still dasyat jgak.lena dengan senang hati .gila lah.rekod aku! HAHA. bila bgun lapaq bebagai. adaikan benda yang ku nak sangat 2 muncul depan mata.waaaa~ seronoknya.terasa nk terbang ja.kring kring kring! sbb ngidam ak ni pelik2 sikit.mcm2 sangat sampai xleh nak balance.heeeee. tp aku nk kurus? mcm mna cita ni? ak nk sangat badan ak kembali mcm dlu dlu! sblm ke poly lg.waaaaa! rindu nya badan 2.hummmm.

tiba2 pulak masuk ke arah badan .bhahaha. oke la.nak golek2 bg tidoq balik.bebai*

i can do it... except for when you can't.

i'm pretty resourceful.

especially because i don't have a husband.

i have to be resourceful.

even if that means using other people's husbands.

but when all the husbands, dads and even uncles shuddered in fright at my latest fix, i knew i needed to pull out the big guns:

the savings account.

husbands, dads, and uncles have saved me from going there a hundred times before. heroes, all of them!

until i said the word "dishwasher"

it was like kryptonite to their souls.

weakening their super-human state nothing more than mortal men.

..... there isn't anything i'd rather be spending my money on than a fancier-than-me dishwasher.

you're all welcome to come over and use my dishwasher.  i'm told it's life changing.

it better be.

home sweet home.

i am officially home, in wawa. 
cow is here too and we just woke up from our first sleep at home. 
it's FREEZING in wawa!  isn't it summer??

yesterday may have been the busiest day of the year.

it also happened to be the day orla kiely wardrobe + handbags were the feature sale on swirl.

it had to be fate.  i would have blown my budget.

and probably that which is not in my budget.

if i knew what was good for me, i'd go there right now and snag something.... there's still a few pieces left.

bestie jen paid an extra $10 for the pool view room at the casablanca.  after schlepping our stuff down the longest corridor of rooms {seriously, we walked for 5 minutes.  and i'm a fast walker} only to find out our key card didn't work, we walked back, back, back to the registration desk and started on our trek all over again.

when we walked in the door, it looked like a meteor was heading straight for our window.

turns out, we were in the direct path between the CASABLANCA sign and the spotlight responsible for broadcasting the casino to all the world.  at least the part of it visible from i15.

we had a great night's sleep that night.

...

and equally long maze through the casino and corridor of hotel rooms throgh the mandalay bay, only it felt better.  cleaner.  fancier.

THEhotel is the 2nd tower.  new, i guess.  i haven't been to vegas in so long everything seems new.

THEhotel is next to THEcafe and you buy your sundries at THEstore and all the rooms are fully stocked with roles of THEtp.  they really made an effort to simplify life for us, complicated guests.

there's a different people.  i hope you can feel it.

p.s.  that picture was snapped at 4 in the afternoon.  bestie jen is in her pajamas.  baby told her she needed to rest. we had the most relaxing vegas vacation.

laughed out loud: i guess today's been pretty boring so far...

went on vacation: easy, peasy - vegas for the britney show.

sent a card: mid-april.  i should be better about this.

bought something online: rose poudre bensimons. my dream come true.

watched something on tv:  intervention on monday night. a re-run of the former mixed martial arts crystal meth addict.

there are only three things that make me cry: 

1. boys
2. frustration
3. cancer

thankfully, none of those things come in great abundance or frequency. but today was one of those days.

so much so that when the tears started to well up on my eyes and my lip started to quiver i abandoned my cart at the grocery store and sent myself home to bed without any dessert. i should have stuck around and bought the kleenex first.
