compare contrast.

casablanca seafood buffet
mesquite, nv

when i mentioned to some of my co-workers that i was going to vegas, one of them said, "STOP BY THE CASABLANCA FOR THEIR SEAFOOD BUFFET. it only happens on the weekends!"

and i laughed.
mostly because i don't like seafood, but also because it was just so klassy....

so when i mentioned it to bestie jen, she told me we were going to do it.
i'm always up for a mockery of white trash {anyone remember my birthday at chuck e. cheese?}
we were going.. and we were going to see what $15.99 would get us in mesquite, nv... where the fresh catch of the day comes in all-you-can-eat abundance.

i think i ate 30 cents worth of canned green beans and shoved the rest around my plate. even the mashed potatoes were horrible.  you can always count on mashed potatoes at a buffet.....

neiman marcus cafe
las vegas, nv

and then we pulled into downtown las vegas where we began the real, classy portion of our vacation.
my underground parking beacon navigated me to a parking spot closest to the escalator that led us directly into neiman marcus.

... where we visited the cafe. and where my $15 grilled cheese and posole soup more than compensated for the crappy buffet i didn't eat the night before.

there is a difference, people.  i hope you can feel it.
