thirty. three.

happy birthday to my big brother matt!

matt's the older, mysterious bachelor brother who spends his time in far off lands doing, what seems to be, posh things with his posh job and posh camera on posh flights across the ends of the earth. and when he's not doing that, he's in flip flops and a skateboard on the beach in san diego. {i think jealousy just starting seeping through my pores...}

he's the older brother who seemed to find what everyone else is in a life-long search for - a childhood hobby turned well paying career. {yup, jealousy.}

and the best part - he looks after his {only} little sister at just the right times.

hope your 12,045th day is great, bennino!

i was just about to feel really sad about life when i had to google my brother in order to find a picture of him... i guess that's what happens when you live on opposite ends of the earth...

but then i dug up this old picture... circa 2005.
mom. matt. brett. aubry.
kinda pathetic. but we feel the love.

this photo is famous among the bennions {and there are many of us} and we have matt to thank.

he's funny enough... and clever enough... to pull off pranks like this. {remember this photo from the hurricane katrina fiasco? classic!}

and lastly, matt is crazy talented with the nikon. in true bennion fashion - less is not more - he's got a lense collection that ansel adams {or scott bennion} would envy. i've said it before, but i would be infinitely cooler if i had a sliver of his talent {and frequent flier miles}.

happy birthday big brother. hope your peeps celebrate the guts out of you. don't do anything i wouldn't do...

Body Painting - Chinese Cheong-sam

A Chinese woman painted in a traditional Cheong-sam outfit.

A different kind of hootin'

Here's what Allan did today.
He also made lots of lattes, ate cake, and listened to WotW, but that we don't have pictures of.
Some parts are fresh, some are healed, but i think the pictures turned out pretty good.

Ain't that the truth, owl buddy!

Thanks for the cake Richard!

who what where when why wednesday.

in honor of the upcoming holiday...
{craig, this is for YOU!}
q:

what is your favorite scary movie?
a:

hmmph. i don't have one... yet!

but paranormal activity might take the title.

watch the trailer here... you might pee your pants.

i CANNOT wait to see it.

coat time.

it's below freezing outside {hello? fall? where did you go?} which means it's time to slap on more, longer, warmer clothes.

now, i'm weak for a lot of things... a good handbag, fancy paper, ribbon, big rings, cardigans... but if there's one thing i'm weak for it's a pretty coat. i have TONS of them. none of them function, of course, but very very pretty.

i have a few red ones.
an orange one.
missing a yellow one {see dream yellow below.}
a green one.
a blue one.
my fav purple one.
like 16 black ones.
just as many brown ones.
and a white one.

the thing is...

i love to buy them, but i hate hate hate to wear them. it's such a hassle to bundle up... just to get in the car... and turn the heater on... which means it'll be hot in no time.... and i'm thoroughly strapped in... no way to de-coat... then brave the 10 second walk inside... where building management has already warmed the place accordingly... and the coat sits on the back of my chair... only to be forgotten about come 5 {or 10} o'clock when it's time to go home...

then i start it all over again... with high aspirations for another cute coat day.

crazy? artsy? me?

would anyone believe me if i told them i didn't want to put up my same ol' fake {mini} christmas tree this year? i'd rather find an old branch and twinkle it up with a few of these.

the pink chair would be nice too...

Wallpaper!

Remember this post?
Back in May we were supposed to redecorate the shop, but that obviously didn't happen, in part due to the fact that we wanted something bigger.
But now, with all these new rooms, wallpaper is so back on!
At least in the front room.

How about some sweet "I Love Lamp" wallpaper?

Oh yeah, it is on!

Breaking news!!

Attention dear blog readers and clients, you heard it here first:
Conspiracy Inc. is moving!

That's right, we've been discretely looking around for a bigger space for a few years, but never really found anything until now.
And we weren't even looking that hard, but that's the way it always happens, right?

Now don't panic, we're staying in Copenhagen and the new location is a mere 10 minute walk from our current position.
I'm not gonna reveal the exact location just yet, cause we're not moving right away, but i'll say it's in a nice, quiet area that we think you're gonna love just as much as we already do.
The shop is gonna need a little work before we can move in, it's kind of a fixer upper, and we also have a Japan trip coming up.
But we're hoping we'll be able to open sometime in the beginning of next year.
Ok, enough talk, here's a sneak peak!

The future workroom
Asking our new landlord a bunch of dumb practical questions...

Everyone who has been crossing their fingers for us can uncross them, i know they must hurt by now.
And everyone who lives nearby and can work a paintbrush, expect a call in December!
