andi.

what to say about the girl who knows E.V.E.R.Y.O.N.E., has everything, and always shows up looking like a pretty present with a sweet treat in hand.
aubry, you are incredible.
truly.

i was trying to remember how aubry and i met. we had mutual friends at the shanty, but i don't remember a specific event where we became friends, it just feels like we've always been.

i remember we would pass on the path by the hart gynmasium a few times a week and she would update me on news about a certain san diego boy (not to be named).
when she moved home to san diego (temporarily) i moved into the shanty.
when i spent the next semester in hawaii, she moved back and took my spot upstairs.
when i came back from hawaii, we flipped a coin for the single room (robin; the current occupant was getting married) and i won. BUT, she was next in line when i got married, so it all worked out. we have a mutual love for that room.
it was a great room wasn't it...(sigh)

during our shared shanty days aubry was my go to:
craft partner
fellow co-op boy admirer
puzzle doing partner
adventure saturday planning partner
baked good supplier
church-creepy hands game player
faithful guitars unplugged supporter
slc jason mraz concert 12 hr. roadtrip buddy
on and on...

since our shanty days, aubry is HANDS DOWN the best keep in toucher i know. she is spontaneous and fun and always up for anything.
even when i moved far away to north carolina, she came to visit me, and she sat without complaint through grueling 12 hour craft days at anthropologie so we could get the store open on time.

when i moved to denver she came to visit more than once: easter the year olive was born, and the jason mraz at red rocks concert.
she made a fruit trifle at my wedding
she threw me the most incredible baby shower when i was a first time expecting mama.
she sent the sweetest little gift to my sister (who she doesn't even know very well) at a particularly hard time for her
and when we bought our first home this summer aubry was our very first house guest.
speaking of, are you coming this year for thanksgiving?
aubry is like family.

she loves my kids, and my kids adore her.
she paints olive's nails, bribes her with pennies when we're shopping and sneaks harrison sweet treats.
sometimes i think she's a better mother than me.

she's as loyal as a bassett hound and as pretty as a peach.
i can't imagine what my life would be like without her.

i heart you aubry.
happy 30th!
