today i became a domestic goddess. or a homemade polygamist.

i made my own laundry soap.

i used this recipe.

my love/hate relationship with laundry detergent runs deep -- i'm severely conflicted.

i'm certain heaven smells like fresh laundry.

 it won't cost $17.99 in heaven.

when i think about all the ways to spend my disposable income, it's not in the detergent aisle. i  mean, bizarrely, i'll spend $69 to smell like fresh laundry, but i kick and scream at the grocery store when it comes time to shop for soap.

because it's SOAP.

so i spent $10 on borax, washing soda, and fels naptha.

and now i have enough of everything to do laundry until i'm 55.
