conversation buzzkill.

my favorite FAVORITE conversation ender.

for example:  when offered fatherly advice from anyone other than my father {and even sometimes from my father}.

proper use of "okay" in a sentence:
vice president: "hey, aubry... that's not where your priorities should be. you need to focus first on picking up your running regimen and next on finding a husband.  after those two things, you can fill your free time with your other hobbies."

{the male leadership at the office really cares about my well being - physical and eternal. every last one of them.}

aubry: "okay"

"okay" means: i don't necessarily agree with you, but it would be a little bit rude to disagree with you and too painful to perpetuate this conversation, so i'll go along with it so as to respectfully put an end to it.

works every time.
... except i'm running... and i'll be assigned a spouse on sunday... so maybe i've been beat at my own game.
