Ramblings of a Mad Woman

I'm having an A.D.D. moment. It seems like my brain is all over the map this morning. I woke up thinking it was Saturday. It's always so disappointing when you realize it isn't and realize that you can't sleep in. So right now I'm in that I'm-so-tired-but-hyper type of state. I've been so busy this week, and feeling a bit sleep-deprived -- or I should say, so tired that once I hit the pillow I'm out. I think my deep sleeps also have something to do with our bedroom tv being out of commission. It's been a nice change but I kind of miss passing out to the late news blaring in the background.

I decided to base today's blog on my mood, which basically will just be random ramblings. We'll start with:

GUESS JEANS

It seems that I'm always so nostalgic for the 90's. It's like when you see these women that are 'stuck in the 80s' with their fly-trap bangs all teased to sky heaven and their frosty pink lipstick, completely clueless. Hopefully I don't go down that same path and start wearing MC Hammer pants or something -- but have to say, I've been craving to buy me some Guess jeans lately, you know, with their infamous triangle symbol on the back pocket. Maybe cause only the cool kids used to wear Guess when I was younger, and I was never one of them. Although a lot of those 'cool' kids were kind of douchebags anyways.

The one thing that I do love about Guess is how they've always kept the same type of ad campaigns. The buxom babes in the black and white photography. I used to paste my favourite magazine ads all over my bedroom walls as a teenager. I had every inch of that wall covered -- magazine wallpaper. And a good portion were the Guess ads, like these....
Supermodel Claudia Schiffer for Guess. Aaaah, these bring back so many memories... The other popular ads were with the late Anna Nicole Smith (her claim to fame), and Drew Barrymore that drenched my walls...

And the Guess ads now:

Like the saying goes: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

PROMETHEUS

Prometheus is Ridley Scott's upcoming science fiction movie that's in production now and scheduled to be released next year, June 2012. These type of movies, amongst the end-of-the-world apocalyptic one's, are my ultimate FAV..!!!!! I guess this film was originally going to be the prequel to Alien, but just read online that the movie "evolved to explore a more stand-alone mythology apart from the Alien franchise." Either way I'm beyond excited. This to me is a theatre viewing type of movie -- even makes it on the opening weekend list. AND to top it off, the movie stars both of my celebrity husbands in it:
Michael Fassbender. *sigh*....

And Patrick Wilson... hahaa, just kidding -- well, with the photo... although not really. It was this dorky look that I fell in love with when watching him in Watchmen, and now is just referred to as 'Nite Owl'.  :)

Those two reasons alone will have me waiting in line at the premiere....

MARLA SINGER

"Marla... the little scratch on the roof of your mouth that would heal if only you could stop tonguing it, but you can't."

Marla Singer. The likeable character from the movie Fight Club -- or as Tyler Durden says: "She's a predator posing as a house pet."  I love actress Helena Bonham Carter, and especially loved her in this.

"...Condom is the glass slipper of our generation. You slip one on when you meet a stranger. You dance all night... then you throw it away. The condom, I mean, not the stranger."

NINE WEST VINTAGE AMERICA

The new Nine West Vintage America Collection ads starring Karen Elson.

And my favourite....

I'm such a sucker for redheads...

SHOPPING WITH McQUEEN

I always said if I had a million dollars I wouldn't ever spend $4,000 on a purse or a pair of shoes. I might have changed my mind since then. *ahem*

Armour Wedge Sandal, $4,245.00

And the Alexander McQueen ad campaign for Fall / Winter 2011:

Okay, that's it -- this blog is getting out of hand.... hahaa... Hopefully tonite I'll post the sister experiment / makeover we did last weekend: The Switch. Dun Dun Dun Duuuuuuun..!!
