i think this is a new feature.
all my friends will get a turn.
this is brooke.
this is why we're different:
she was born in 1989. the year i was baptized.
she graduated high school in 2007. the year i refinanced my house.
when i played my fav cd - now that's what i call music vol. 4 - and mentioned the name "aaliyah" she asked "who's that?"even
when told her about a funny facebook status update about kevin sorbo and lucy lawless, she asked "who's that?"
she works at a bank. i work for engineers.
she tells stories of "members". i tell stories of "property owners".
she likes country music. i can't tolerate it.
she is an all-star resale {name droppers} shopper. i seem to buy everything at full price.
she has 32314835 sisters. i have none.
she's already learned the "don't shop at the gap" lesson. i still cave and walk away disappointed every time.
she gets the student discount at j.crew outlet. i lost those privileges in 2004.
this is why we're the same:
shared love for bright lips.
neither of us are afraid of mixing patterns. polka dots, lace, ruffles, and stripes. in 7 different colors.
we could groundhog's day every saturday and be perfectly happy about it: mac counter, nordstrom cafe, j.crew, rinse and repeat.
we always win the "party table" contest at the piano bar. and we're sober.
we both grew up being told we talked too much and too loud.
love ruffles. love bows.
same feeling about the 3rd hour of church.
mega bloggers.
and the real kicker... last year, the boy i was kissing at the time told me he "didn't care about us anymore" and the words fell out of his mouth without thought of consequence or consideration of my emotions. today, the boy brooke was kissing told her he "didn't feel like he owed anyone anything" and the words fell out of his mouth without thought of consequence or consideration of her emotions. same story. same "what the %&#@!?" dropped jaw as we drove away.
and that's why we're friends.
