i've wanted to paint a chevron rug since last july... after "i hang the red mirror and hire the wallpaper installer"

looks like i've done all the pre-reqs.... i guess it's time i take this on.
i fell upon this chevron rug diy-er the other day.
love it.
someone tell me how i can get my lines so perfectly straight...
will i need an engineer's help?
