brooke propositioned me today with dinner in exchange for a little school/craft project.
i forgot what it was like to have book reports and show + tell projects in humanities class n' stuff....
cafe rio pork enchiladas and the history of catholicism in utah. an ideal way to spend a tuesday night, if you ask me.
i mean, did you know more than 350,000 hispanics live in utah and 70% of them are catholic?
brooke told me she needed a map of the state of utah and very flannel board-esque drawings of catholic priests, nuns, chuches, yada because she didn't have any artistic ability.
i didn't believe her.
but now i do.
and i'm here to offer my artistic talents to anyone with drawing skills at par with brooke's.
for free.
i promise you need it.
{at least she's pretty, right? even if she can't draw...}
i hope she gets an A.
i outlined in pencil, brooke traced in ink with the big girl sharpie.
after drawing 32532 churches, we needed a cathedral.
"how do you draw a cathedral?" says brooke.
"like this" i said... while sketching up the drawing on left.
... and what did brooke end up with? oh, just that little wonder on the right.
and a nun.
{i drew that, in case you were wondering.}
such concentration... or so i thought...
but brooke snapped this picture and THAT'S concentration.
{i was drawing a monk, thankyouverymuch. i've never drawn a monk before}
brooke's sweet churches.
my nuns, a monk, and father patrick walsh.
seriously so proud of my monk.
{i'm pretty after a work out, right?}
our finished product!
HOW ABOUT THAT MONK!?
tonight brought me back to 1995 when my mom stayed up through the night to construct my tri-fold presentation board on the dangers of hunting harp seals, or the mormon batallion history fair project we designed together in the basement, or the science fair project all about simple sugars {you know, mono-and disaccerides.... 7th grade stuff} both of which took me to the county history + science fair...
thanks, mom! and you're welcome, brooke!
