Dream House

I woke up this morning to the lovely scent of my neighbours stale cigarette smoke, still lingering in the air from what I imagine is the result from a chain smoking couch potato extravaganza. Aaah, the joys of shared living... I love highrise living, however, it's in these moments that I'm prepared to pack my bags and consider a house. My second top reason for moving into a house would be to fulfill my childhood dream of transforming it into a 'haunted' masterpiece and to be able to throw a wicked halloween costume party -- and not just for the adults; all their little ghouls and goblins would be most welcome. Afterall, halloween is all about the kids. See, this is too hard to do in a condo when you have to consider space and noise levels (and crabby/stinky chainsmoking neighbours.)

I often fantasize about what my dream home would look like, but am starting to realize that in order for this to ever happen I'd have to do two things: a) win the lottery, and/or b) put a complete stop to all and any personal shopping escapades (and probably save money for a million and some years.) So far the probability of options a. or b. happening is slim to none. Yay!!! I guess I'll just spend all my money on lottery tickets for the time being.... In the meantime, let's see what this dream (pun intended! Muahaha!) house looks like. *ahem*

I kid you not, but if I could build my house I would 100% model it after Disney's Minnie Mouse (house):

I love the pink and purple. Although I wonder, can you even get roof shingles in that shade?? I would do all the heart cutouts in the window shutters and fence, and maybe try and design a turret somewhere in there. It'd end up looking like some medieval castle on acid. Just to clarify, this is a turret:

In architecture, a turret is a small tower that projects vertically from the wall of a building such as a medieval castle.

Only my turret would be pink and purple with hearts. hahahahaaa... I might have to rethink this. Anyhooooo, here are some more ideas on my future home:

Eeeeeeeeee!! Just looking through these photos makes me so excited for Disney World -- next year..!! Me and Jarred are saving Air Mile points as we speak. Planning this as our 5th anniversary trip next September. We just went to Disneyland... last year?? Yikes. I'm pretty sure this was May of 2010...??? I think. Anyways! We went recently and loved it. And I mean, LOVED it. Well, maybe I loved it a bit too much. Kept saying that I wanted to move and live in the park, lol.

Now, speaking on dream homes, check this out. This here is homebuilder Blair Bangerter out of Utah, and he built a replica on Pixar's UP house...!!! Glad to see I'm not the only crazy person out there.  :)

Seriously though, isn't this sooooo cool??? I love it. Maybe me and Jarred should move in. The house is up for sale right now, going for $400,000. I don't know why he would sell it. I'd live here forever, and ever, and ever. And ever.

Isn't that so awesome?! Even the inside is same as the movie...

And look at this cute gingerbread house that I found online..!! Unfortunately there was no info on who created this amazing work of art.

Anyways, on a complete side note, I just read on an upcoming 3D animated movie coming out next year: Hotel Transylvania. It stars Adam Sandler who voices Count Dracula, who runs a hotel, along with his teenage daughter, and has guests such as monsters Frankenstein (Kevin James), Quasimodo (David Spade) and The Mummy (Cee Lo Green). Can't wait to see the trailer!

Okay, that's enough rambling for today.
