since it had been, like, 14 years since we'd seen each other last - brooke, ashlee and i rendezvoused at ruth's diner for some home cooking on the patio.
there are a million great things about that place... the drive up the canyon, the tree branches that wind through the strands of lights, the killer people watching it affords, yada.
so - enjoying it with two of my sassiest friends seemed like a shoe in. thanks for the idea, brooke.
brooke and i ordered the mac and cheese. homemade - can do no wrong, right?
we didn't like it.
although - watching it on diners, drive-ins, and dives, i reallllllly wanted to like it.

so mckade the waiter {who recommended it over the pulled pork} offered us two surprise desserts.
creme brulee and chocolate malt pudding.
they
were
to
die
for.
both
of
them
i
had
no
choice
but
to
take
care
of
them
with
the
proper
attention
they
deserved.
and then mckade asked me where he recognized me from.
i wanted to tell him him it was eternity... but then remembered he still had three hours left on his shift.
