well. it's come and gone. week one as a grade 5 teacher is officially over. and today i started week two...to be precise. so anyway, it was good. really good actually. the kids are GREAT. we are working into a nice routine. our classroom looks good. BUT...yes, there is a BUT. a BIG BUT. soon, much sooner than anticipated, we will move into our new school. there is talk of it happening by the 13th of september. which means packing, moving, redoing bulletin boards, unpacking, rearranging...you get the point...all with students. i really hope that they arrange some sort of day for us to do this without the kids but who knows....no one at this point. oh and did i mention that on september 18 we are having the big old GRAND OPENING?? ya that should be great. or a gong show. take your pick. i'm trying really hard to be positive this year. and trying to look at the bright side...new school, being all together as one staff, etc. but it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel right now. we have a lot to do before we get to the light! i'm sorry. i just needed to vent. so here it is. and i won't bring it up again. only positive from now on (i make no promises...but i'll try my best).
