oh, i do. i remember it like it was yesterday.
i remember because i went to co-worker greg's house for sunday dinner that sunday. {before it was a regularly scheduled thang}. it was the sunday march madness was announced. and i remember making green cupcakes for st. patrick's day that monday night... and i remember working from home for the rest of the week while boss #1 and boss #2 were in st. george for meetings {the same meetings they're heading to tomorrow}. i'm reliving all of these events... just missing the drama.
i remember learning that bff co-workers #1 and #2 got together to talk about me and my ordinary life one day while i was out of the office. i heard about how they turned a really boring story about my life {the one that wasn't good enough, or exciting enough to be true} into something much more fanciful and exotic... all at the expense of my character {and co-worker's character, too}.
i also remember the furious phone call i made a week later {i'm never more eloquent than when i'm furious} to bff co-worker #2 when i actually had to say the words "i'm your co-worker. quite praying for me to find a husband... and don't ever EVER use the word 'sex' when talking about me to your boss."
i silenced a grown man. that was very cool.
... funny how it's all shaken out a year later...
i cried and cried and cried over that day. but in the end, it's never a bad thing to have both bosses going to bat to save your name and character.
