for some reason, i thought the slc marathon was this weekend {turns out it's next month}... so the thought of heading downtown on saturday afternoon meant it was going to be a little bit of a logistical mess. last year, i arrived at the gateway when the 6+ hour marathoners were chugging in. we clapped and cheered... and went on our merry way to shop at urban outfitter.

but this year... no runners. instead...

thousands of fat people. THOUSANDS of them lined up around the nbc building to audition for the biggest loser.

the convo went like this:

aubry: jen, what's up over there?

jen: i don't know, let's check it out.

aubry: i'll u right here and we'll drive past.

jen: i'll get my camera ready in case it's something bloggable.

aubry: why is everybody so fat?

jen: on it. {out comes the droid. googling.}

aubry: the line's moving... what is it?... and why are they all in lawn chairs?

jen: BIGGEST LOSER AUDITIONS!

aubry: i've gotta call my mom.

and then we carried onto mrs. backer's pastry shop to taste test $20 {and like 8,000 calories} worth of deliciousness. appropriate, eh?
