in case it's not apparent, already - jen and i are best friends.  we're practically the same person.  just a few differences - jen likes dogs, i only like humans. when jen got married, she wanted a big diamond, i'll be happy with a semi-precious metal someday.  but, we have similar taste in personal style, we like to shop at the same places, and even wear most of the same clothes. 

so jen shouldn't be surprised to know that i'm about to blog the same blog she blogged not too long ago.  

in fact, i know she won't be surprised.  she was by my side when the following sitch went down.

i'm indulging in a minor moment of retail therapy {i bought socks.  sure, they cost $12... and they were just SOCKS... but at the time, this didn't seem like anything too unreasonable.}   i'm wearing 47 layers of whatever clothes i found on the top of the laundry pile...

which happened to be:

a satin ruffle-y top from j. crew - BRIGHT pink.  kind of like this.

my favorite cardigan from nordstrom, yeah, the default cardigan i wear everyday. 

what would my wardrobe be without a white shade shirt?

my secret $29 cheap-o jeans from american eagle {seriously, who admits to that?}

and my favorite summertime overpriced, and bizarrely non-euro, but sooo euro camper shoes. 

i assure you - i didn't match.  i wasn't dressed for the season.  i was freezing my tail off.  i'm certain my hair was in a ponytail, which is a sure sign that i'm done for the day.  and since it was a saturday, i didn't bother applying the full mess of makeup.  by no means was i there to impress anybody. 

but i got the ultimate morale boost {perhaps the one i was seeking in retail therapy} when the girl behind the counter at anthropologie said something like, "oh, i love your shoes... oh, and your top... and your cardigan, too.  i love it all.  check you girls out.  i love your style." 

really?  my style?  how 'bout the lack thereof.  this, coming from the cutest girl at anthro.  

seriously - thank you, kind girl.  thank you.
