one piece of good news

so remember the other day when i blogged about good things on the horizon???  well i can oficially tell you about ONE of those things! 

TIFFANY IS HAVING A BABY!!!! 

see her little wee baby bump?!  that's my little niece or nephew in there!!! 
tiffany and i have been best friends since i was in grade 5 and she was in grade 4.  i told her this summer to get pregnant in like october or november so that i could be home when she has the baby.  but NO!  she didn't listen!  she is due on may 5th and my dad thinks she should just wait ONE day and have it on his birthday! 
i am so excited to go home this summer and meet my (two month old!!!) niece or nephew!  YAHOO!

sarah and mat

this summer i was fortunate to get to share in the special day of one of my dearest (most dear??) friends.  sarah and mat were married in thunder bay, ontario on aug. 4th and it was a wonderful day!  i want to hare some of their stunning photos with you.  their photographer's were AMAZING....see for yourself! 

looking at these pictures brings tears to my eyes!  thank you sarah and mat, for sharing your day with me.  and thank you sarah for being such an inspiring person.  when i read the description of you on your photographers blog, i laughed, because i can imagine it.  so clearly.  she is right in everything she said.

the big reveal

now that i have had my newest tattoo for a month and a half, i will finally show you what it looks like. 
i just kept forgetting to take a picture of it.  haha.
anyway, here it is.  i love it!

a TOTES awesome day!

today was a good day i tell ya! 

• first we met colleen at her school and got to see her classroom.  it might be the size of her shoe.  but its going to be cute!  


• then we went to my apartment (my actual apartment, not linds and phils).  we had scrambled eggs and toast for lunch cause that's all the food i have.


• next up, a pit stop at linds and phils to drop off our bags then off to the scientific centre!  there we met up with alex and ian (who had an unusually long walk to get there in 40 degree heat) and visited the aquarium!  we saw lots of cool fish, some penguins, and even some sharks! oh and we had a delightful beverage at starbucks too.


• after working very hard to get a cab home, we made homemade pizza and had a pizza party!  it was DELISH! 


• top that all off with a quick game of catch phrase (ian, phil, and i won!!) and lots of laughs!  

i told you.  it was a good day!  wanna see???

GO TEAM DIABETES!!

hey remember these two?! well, they are awesome.  and i want you to send all of your love, prayers, thoughts, energy and good vibes their way!  why??  because in jut 2 days, they will be running a full marathon in ICELAND for team diabetes!!!  they should be in iceland now, or shortly, resting up and getting ready to run.  i am SO proud of them and all that they have done in preparing for this race (including raising over $12 000!!!!!).

passport: UPDATE 2

i have a new passport.  i don't have my old passport back yet.  but i did get a basket of candy in the mail from fedex thanking me for my business.  ppfffftt.
anyway, i'm good to go.  i'm legit again.  but still hoping the old one reappears!

GOOD NEWS!

just kidding.  turns out the FedEx LOST my passport.  can you believe it?!  so today i'm on my way to thunder bay today so that i can be at the passport office first thing in the morning to apply for an emergency passport.  i won't have time to get my work visa before i leave but apparently i can get in as a tourist and then apply for a work visa when i get there. 

thankfully, everyone around here has been really helpful (with the exception of FedEx).  i got my passport photos done and was not charged, a new copy of my police clearance for free, special service from purolator, no charge at the lawyers office, and of course huge amounts of advice and support from the wonderful lady at the kuwait embassy of canada. also, my friends have been great.  sarah made a special trip to the passport office in tbay for me and is letting us stay at her house tonight, tiff is taking a day off work to come to tbay with me, and lindsay and phil have been super supportive and have offered many emails, phone numbers, and words of advice. and of course, my mom and dad have been great.  putting up with my tears, making calls, taking faxes, etc., etc.

so, i'm on my way soon.  i guess i'll just have to try to make the best of this not so awesome situation....

time to worry???

weeks ago i sent my passport away to get my work visa for kuwait.  i naturally assumed that when i returned home after a week, it would be here.  it's not.  it's august 15 and i don't have a passport.  i called fedex.  she traced it.  she says no one has physically scanned it in since august 6.  so WHERE I IT?!?!?!  she says she'll call me back in a couple hours.  please cross your fingers for the safe return of my passport.  and i'll keep you posted. 

honey, i'm HOME!

after a WONDERFUL week away, i'm finally home, back in wawa.  but unfortunately, not for long!  in only 10 days i'll be off again on my new adventure.  i'm excited to go but as always, i'm going to miss this place!

printing machine!

since i've been home i've been working hard to get my pictures from this year organized and printed.  i've uploaded and uploaded and waited and waited.  i'm using kodakgallery.ca which is great because the prints are only 15 cents each.  even at walmart they are 19 cents each!  anyway, including the 194 pictures that i am having printed for my mom, i am now waiting for more than 1500 pictures to be delivered!  that's going to fill up a photo album or two wouldn't you say?!

hanging with makai

the other day i got lucky and got to spend some time alone in the afternoon with makai.  he came over to the house to  play with cow and he had a blast!!  he also gave cow his new nickname:  cowee wowee!  i LOVE it!  it suits him very well!

oh, and i forgot to tell you.  makai even dressed up for the occasion!

beach bums!

remember how i told you that courtney was trying to teach me how to get a tan???  well, we went out to the beach the other day so i could work on my tan.  lol that sounds funny.  really what i wanted was to get rid of the white strap marks on my shoulders because i am going to a wedding in a couple weeks and i plan to wear a dress with only one strap.  ANYWAY....we went to hawk beach and courtney laughed at me when i put SPF 55 on my nose.  BUT, guess what didn't burn??  MY NOSE!  guess what did burn???  EVERYTHING else!  actually my shoulders and arms are ok but my chest and back are seriously red!  on a positive note, those white strap marks are all gone!  

so, besides the sunburn, we had a great day.  here are some pics of the boys playing at the beach:

a week from today.

in one week from today, i will be in thunder bay (for the first time in FOUR years) for wedding of the WONDERFUL mlle. sarah polowski!  i can't post a picture of us because sadly ihaven't seen in her in FOUR YEARS and therefore i don't have any pictures on my computer.  BUT, i will post a picture of us after the wedding next week, i can promise that!

ANYWAY, i want to wish sarah all the best leading up to her wedding and on her very special day.  i can't wait to see you and watch you walk down the aisle! xoxoxo

a good day

today i got to spend the day with two of my very favourite boys in the WHOLE world.  we played and laughed and sang and walked and tickled.  it was great.  these two are the BEST!  and i miss them A LOT when i am gone. 

i also got a few tips about tanning from their wonderful mother.  i got a sunburn.  but she tried!  haha!!  anyway, days with these two cuties and their mom are something that i will definitely miss (AGAIN!) when i'm gone. xoxoxo
