i had about an hour to spare between the time i got home from work and the time i had to leave for a night at the temple. i hurried and ate a bowl of lucky charms {not so adult}, weeded through my massive mail pile, then got to work in the backyard. no time to change, so i pulled weeds, assessed the garden, and mowed the lawn...
... in patent leather wedges.
as i stood on the patio and watered my precious peas and strawberries {i had little hope for them last year... i nearly pulled them from the planter box} i thought, "if i wasn't a homeowner... and responsible for this little parcel of land... i wouldn't be doing this. i would be doing other things with my time. but here i am. tending. because that's what adults do. they tend to things. they're responsible for things. their time is not spent at their leisure... and so, i'm an adult right now. i'm being an adult."
and then i got back to loving my garden.
seriously, though - little strawberries, the vanilla ice cream and i are patiently awaiting your arrival.
