it's a SMASH!

though i would NEVER admit how many tv shows i watch currently, i have to tell you about a new show that i LOVE!  it's called SMASH and it apparently airs on monday after the super bowl.  but for some reason i was able to download it this week upon the recommendation of a friend at school.  well i watched the pilot episode and i LOVE it!!  so if you have a chance, try to catch it when it airs in a week or two....or download it.  either way, it's worth a watch!  it's got a good story line, a good cast, and some great tunes!  check it out!

it's love.

i have a new favourite cd.  it's called modern love and the singer is matt nathanson.  the cd is SO SO good.  so far i love every single song!  turns out he's been around a while and has had many of his songs featured in tv programs.  this week he performed live on the bachelor and i loved the song right away.  i was so inspired that i bought the whole album.  love love love!

bad + bad

i've been waiting to blog about this (cause tv is my life...) and now that lindsay and phil have caught up on our shows, i can finally share my feelings!

the finales of survivor and x-factor were NOT ok.  in my opinion, both shows ended with the worst possible result!  let me explain:

survivor - ozzy should have won.  hands down!  he was SO good at the game and just because he lost the last immunity challenge, they voted him out.  why did they vote him out?  because they KNEW that they couldn't beat him.  losers.  i hate that he didn't win.

i love ozzy.  i want to marry him.

x-factor - chris rene ALL THE WAY!  i have loved him from the beginning and he made it to the final three.  ok, maybe he wasn't the best singer in the competition but he definitely had the x-factor!  he puts on the best show and will make the BEST album!  and i will buy it!!  i love chris rene!  watch this video and you'll fall in love too :)

so that's that.  both shows ended badly.  on a positive note, ozzy wins the people's choice award and chris rene will be a star!! 

gloria is so smart!

while watching the christmas episode of modern family, i was touched by gloria's words...

family is family.  whether it's the one you start out with, the one that you end up with, or the family that you gain along the way.

thought it was very appropriate after last nights post and as i sit here missing my family at home.  xo

giving thanks.

with this weekend being american thanksgiving, many of my american friend were feeling thankful but missing home.  so to them, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!! 

but here's the thing.  i get that this is a huge weekend in the states but there are some things that i just don't understand.

1. why ANYONE would want to go out shopping on this weekend.
2. why ANYONE would want to watch that much football.
3. why we must cancel ALL other tv shows this week.

i love my 'merican friends, but i just don't get it!!!  sigh....maybe someday i will understand....

i'm torn...

ok so i have been having mixed feelings about glee lately, but it's still my favourite show.  i just don't like when it doesn't measure up to it's full potential!!  anyway, a couple weeks ago, it was GREAT!  and now...it hasn't been on for TWO WEEKS!  so i looked into it, and it's not going to be on again next week!!  three weeks in a row!  i need to get to the bottom of this!  so again, i look into it (thank you google) and find out that it has been preempted, because of....wait for it.... X FACTOR!  and i love x factor, but come on!!  can't we all just get along?!

a new love.

i LOVE this show.  it's quirky and cute and funny and smart.  some might say it's aDORKable!  watch it!!  seriously.  find out when it's on.  or download it.  it's SO good!

i can't help it!

being a huge fan of how i met your mother, i can't help but think of this special message from the show around this time of year!  it's a special time really!  happy slapsgiving everybody!!! 

a special slapsgiving shout out to mr. jeremy in 'nam.  the show just isn't the same without you!!

this little girl made the top 32 acts on the x-factor.  she is AMAZING.  i love her and i hope she wins the whole thing!!!

A stand out

Last night we watched the first episode of x factor and I have a favorite. I really like this guy, Chris Rene, who is not only a GREAT singer, but he also wrote his own song and has a good back story. He was addicted to drugs and alcohol and is 70 days clean as of now. I really hope that making it through will help him to stay clean. When Simon put him through to the next round he said he only gets to continue if he stays clean...I think that is the way it should be. Hopefully it's enough to motivate him to change his life for the better!

big brother bust!

while lindsay and phillip were here we HAD to watch the season premier of big brother 13.  phil's parents were at home watching and we all had to make our pics for who the winner would be.  so, we watched, we contemplated, and we picked.  phil picked the rocker, adam, kelly picked adam's partner dominic, and lindsay, tiffany and i ALL picked cassi. 

well, guess who got evicted last night?!  CASSI!  there must have been a reason that three of us picked her....but by a vote of 9 - 0 she was out the door!  i don't think she should have been evicted, and not just because she was my pick, but there are some not so nice girls in the house so out cassi went. 

BOO!  no luck for me!  or lindsay.  or tiffany. bye cassi!!

i had forgotten how many wonderfully terrible tv shows there are out there!!

• love in the wild - awesome.  terrible.  finding love in the outdoors...
• minute to win it - one minute per game to win a bunch of money.  so fun.  want to try!
• big brother - GO CASSIE!
• say yes to the dress, rich bride poor bride, etc. - i love wedding shows.  period.
• cake boss - oh how i've missed you, buddy!
• NY ink - i want a tattoo from ami.  he's so hot.

APPRENTICE SPOILER ALERT!!!

i am SO SO happy with the winner of celebrity apprentice this season!  mr. john rich was my pick from the very beginning.  he was playing for a great charity (st. jude children's hospital), he was composed, confident, and very talented in many capacities. 
YAY! for john rich and double YAY for st. jude's!  he raised $1 000 000 for them this season!
as a very wonderful person i know would say, "WOWEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

thank goodness!

i've been watching american idol pretty faithfully, but since casey got voted off, i have been less interested. 

 

however, now that the end is near, there is one thing i know for sure.  i am SO happy that haley got voted off this week!  she had THE WORST attitude ever!!  when the judges would review her performance, she would roll her eyes, make rude comments, and i was turned off by her behavior quite early on.  she did it again this week and i'm glad she is gone.  period.  she could sing just fine but the attitude ruined any chance that she had in my mind.  

now we are left with the cutest final two ever!  i mean look at these two!  has anyone told them that they should date?!  cause they should!  

 

i guess i'm rooting for scotty now.  but i like lauren too so i don't really care one way or another.  i guess we'll see soon enough what america decides!
