Box hoarding and other life questions

- Let the hoarding adventures continue! I really don't know why I continue to collect boxes. I somehow always think I'll need them, and then they'll be super handy to have kicking around. Right now I have them scattered between the spare room and my car, but mostly in my car. I'd say 90% of the time this is what my car looks like:

You don't even want to see the trunk. If anything, I'm starting to think that this could be a good deterrent from car thieves. Just think about it; picture that you are a thief, and pass by this car. You'd look in and see all these empty boxes and be turned off, thinking that this car looks like it's too much of a hassle to bother with. haha, at least then I know there's a point to all these boxes.

- Over the past view days I've been pondering the same question, regarding my blog and facebook, and keep asking myself:

What's the point?

I've been seriously considering cancelling one or the other, or even both. But I then wonder if I'll go into serious facebook withdrawls, where I'll be sweating, aaaand foaming at the mouth, aaaaaaand not knowing what to do with all of this extra spare time. Although really, picture what it would be like to cancel all of these accounts. For good. Maybe it would be nice not to worry about such frivolous things.

We'll see how things go. My mood might change by tomorrow anyways.

- Kitchen Renovations.

I think these Mexican tiles would look soooooo good mixed in with solid colored tiles as the backsplash in my kitchen. Yes?!

- "Ohhhh Mummy, can I please get this hooker doll? Phhhleeease??"

xoxoxo...

Home Decorating: The Clutter House

I've always been attracted to home decor that falls on the clutter-y side. I must get that from my mother. Her house is jam packed full of stuff -- as what I like to call an organized hoarder. I'm an organized hoarder, and tend to decorate my place with odd trinkets and knick knacks of all sorts. So of-course when I saw these next photos of what I like to call The Clutter House, I was instantly in love.

The Clutter House

You must click on the above link, and view the rest of the photos. Their decorating is truely so eccentric and artistic, and interesting. I find this inspiring, and am all of a sudden craving to shop at my neighbourhood thrift store.

"Are you on something? Are you taking the pot..??"

I'm trying to write this blog while watching the crappy movie Cable Guy but am finding this movie too distracting. I really should just change the channel. I'm kind of flipping back and forth between Cable Guy and Resident Evil -- haha, quite the contrast in movies. There's nothing on tv tonite. I've been feeling inspired lately to redecorate the house, a few tweeks here and there, but mostly the purple room a.k.a. my personal hoarding/clutter room. Right now it's in the messier-than-hell phase:

Look, my suitcase is still out from my trip 3 weeks ago. I'm so bad for that; takes me a million years to unpack and put everything away. Jarred unpacks, puts his suitcase away, and washes all his clothes the day he comes home, lol.

Anyways, I went out for drinks tuesday night with friends and decided to be a bit more creative with my makeup, thought I'd try to re-create a look I saw in one of my new magazines.

The inspiration:

And my take on it:

I'm quite happy with the way my eye makeup turned out..!! Especially since I'm not that good -- I'm decent-ish but need to experiment more often. At least I think so. I did the eyes a bit different than the magazine photo, only cause I was going by memory -- I had forgotten my magazine at work that day :)

Check out this fabric I recently purchased. Can't wait for things to settle and to start crafting again.

And a random shot of my knick knacks:

I can't believe I just watched all of The Cable Guy...

Hoarders

Watching Hoarders tonite has inspired today's blog entry. I'm going to show you what it means to be an Organized Hoarder, as I like to call myself, hahaha. Let's start with the most cherished possessions: The Accessories.  :)

The bracelet drawer

Where I store some of my earrings, rings and pendants

SOME of the hair accessories. I have 3 other areas where I store headbands, hair clips, bows and all that good stuff.

I love these kiddie hair clips you can buy at Shoppers Drug Mart or Safeway. I like wearing stuff that's intended for little girls.  :)

Purses...

Random hoarding shelf, all dusted and angled properly, lol. And yes, I will know if something has been moved! My sister and old roommate already tested that theory once before.

This is what an organized hoarding closet looks like...

And a sneak peak at some of the toy collection, which I guess counts as hoarding as well..??

I sometimes wonder what it would be like to simplify my life and completely get rid of everything -- or at least a very large chunk of stuff. I think it could be very therapeutic, and cleansing. I always liked the message that the movie Fight Club gave, about our possessions eventually owning us and how you should stand up against senseless consumerism and free your life from that. More or less.
