Same old Betsey

I was so excited to view the Betsey Johnson Spring 2012 collection, as I have always been a fan of her clothing line. I have to say though, I was a little disappointed. I just found that it fell a bit short for me; that it seemed so 'been there, done that'. There didn't seem to be anything super new or exciting. It just mostly felt old and boring-ish. And like something you can find at your neighbourhood Forever 21.

Of-course some pieces I didn't mind, like this see-through trench coat. Makes me think of Tron's Gem.  :)

I find Betsey's known for, and her classic style, is the super girly, floral prints, poufy dresses, skulls and animal prints look. Which I have nothing against. I like that she's so fun and colorful.

Betsey's classic style: the floral print, and poufy dress.

I absolutely LOVED her Fall Winter 2011 / 2012 Ready-To-Wear collection.

And her Spring 2009 collection. I've always been a sucker for the House on the Prairie Laura Ingalls look.

I've also, recently, been really digging the severe head-to-toe-all-covered-in-white style:

I should mention, the one thing that I did like about her Spring 2012 show was the accessories, hair, and especially makeup -- love that neon pink!

Anywaaaaaays... Nicki Minaj attended the show, in her colorful ensemble...

And I right away recognized the shoes she was wearing...!! Irregular Choice..!!!

Aren't they so fantastic?? I envision wearing these to a tea party.  :)

You must check out their shoes:

Right now I have my eyes on these puppies:

ps: I love it that Betsey Johnson is 70 years old, and still looks like this.  :)

Prada goes Vroom-Vroom

Alright. Now, tell me that these Prada Spring 2012 shoes don't pump your gonads. Like, haaaaardcore. Seriously..!! I love how they're inspired by the classic cars of the fifties.  :)

These shoes are so killer.

Even with matching accessories...

Meadham Kirchhoff: New Favourite Designer

It was love at first sight when I saw the Meadham Kirchhoff Spring 2011 line last year. I loooove the rainbow hair, makeup and jeweled tiaras; like a modern day princess.

And the Peter Pan collars, another love (alongside the baby-doll) that I'll discuss in an upcoming entry.

Of-course as I was looking up photos today, I began to browse through their other collections through the last couple of years, and noticed that they really have a thing for the thick socks and heels look....

Meadham Kirchhoff Fall 2010. I love the draping fabrics and veils, and stacked bangles and bracelets. Kind of has a look from the far east, with a touch of Peru. But what is up with those ugly socks and sandals..?? Looks like something an old European man would wear.

Fall 2011. Something about this makes me think of an Amish Witch, that lives in the Swiss Alps. Again, not really loving the footwear...

But I do love all the black and white pieces (and the Cruella-esque hair.)  :)

Fast forward to today -- Meadham Kirchhoff Spring 2012

Ooooooohhhh!! I love all these 'little girl' pieces..!! This is what I'm always talking about -- there IS a market of young women (such as myself) who love to, and want to wear clothing that looks like it belongs to their 5 year old daughter. So far you really only see this happening on the streets of Japan -- but I've been saying it for years.  :)

I'm addicted to little girl hair barrettes. I'm not even lying, but I have several in my hair as we speak.  :)

Okay. This has got to be the cutest manicure EVEEEEER.

Now, these shoes and stockings I like..!!

And a Courtney Love finale. Perfect.

You can view the entire collection here:
