i can't let go of christmas.

i checked the mail today for the first time since leaving for san diego.

shame on me. 

among the auto insurance policy renewals and the new debit cards and 239874326 loose leaf pages of grocery store ads, i found five new christmas cards. 

and so i can't take christmas down.

i have to celebrate those new sweet faces on my wall and honor the people who licked an envelope and bought a book of stamps for just a few more days. 

since becoming an adult and mingling in crowds who are christmas-card-sender-out-ers, i struggled to find a place to display all the pretty pieces of incoming mail. until this year.

so, it's still the holly jolly holiday around here. 

plus, i have serious battle wounds from winding the lights around that dead tree branch - i'll need a few more weeks of recovery before i go back in for more. 

speaking of the mail...

... i opened a card from sweet kate today, too. 

it's a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious card which means it's perfectly perfect for me.  and it's letter press.  and i died a little when i opened it.

the personal mail:junk mail ratio was in my favor today. what an occasion to celebrate!
