where is the love?

the e-mails are swirling... but it's important... so i'm jumping on the band wagon and joining the cause.

hbo's big love (a show that i've been known to love in days past) will air an episode (on sunday, i think) depicting the lds temple ceremony - "tiny details" n' all. so sad. so sacred.

you can contact hbo to share your feelings. might i suggest taking the high road by simply asking them not to air the episode.... free of negativity.

here's mine:

dear hbo -

I do not subscribe to hbo; however it has been brought to my attention that an upcoming episode of Big Love will "re-create, even the tiniest details" a religious ceremony that is SACRED to millions of members of the Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-day Saints. It is sacred. I cannot fathom how/why so many executives made such a conscious decision to bypass the sensitivity of over 13 million members of the church to produce such a thing on television.

Please, please, please do not air the episode. Please consider the sacred nature of this ceremony and do not make light of it. The Big Love audience is looking for entertainment, which is entirely attainable without the recreation of holy religious ceremony.

e mail them by clicking here.

"...the Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done."

-Joseph Smith
