the archives.

you'd never know it, but before my dad become the photographer that he is, bennions didn't take pictures.
i think i have three pictures of my childhood.
that's not even an exaggeration.

but here i am - cleaning, packing, and moving my grandma + her husband's house for their great move to st. george
... and i've discovered the jackpot of family photos.
none of me, of course.
that would be TOO good.
but the early bennion days {circa 1980}
and
the early juarez days {circa rebecca bennion's childhood}

here's the slideshow:

jeff + dad.
classic bennion position:
upside down and helpless.

matt.
oldest child.
sweet as can be.

jeff + matt.
sea world.

matt.
tool belt and all,
i'm sure my dad had him drill all those holes.

and now, juarez time.
remember the post about my mom's mexican denial?

this is where i prove her wong.
again.

rebecca.
greg. larry.
christina.

isn't my mom SO mexican? mex.i.can!
15 facebook comment later, she still denies it.
i'll never understand.
without her people, the world would taste so bad.
and larry. look at that sweeeeeet larry face!  it's killing me.

 rebecca + larry.
i kind of want those bangs.

rebecca. larry. greg.
old school, painted photo.

rebecca.
my mom thinks i'm crazy, but i see a little jared in here.

and then there's this.
va.
va.

and that concludes the tour of the mexican side of the family.

i could stare at these photos all day.
