and in case anyone's looking to take on something spectacular, either one of these ideas {1} or {2} would drop me to my knees with wow and love.

first: the birthday girl postcard game.

giant print of the birthday girl {hint: i have access to a poster making machine...}, cut into lots of pieces... sent to all her friends... the reverse side is filled with love from friends... then mailed back to the birthday girl... and put back together like one giant puzzle.

this would be totally awesome as a surprise.

i promise to act surprised.

even if i have to help you make the poster.

second: the love note balloon release.

attach a pretty note to a balloon {or 29 of them, if you really want to honor the birthday girl}... include a return {blog or email} address... send it away to the open skies... and wait... the replies will come floating in...

i would choose red and teal balloons. maybe some token green ones.
