the good, the bad, and the ugly.

as i laid in bed this morning, i took inventory of the week.  there's too much material to keep quiet.
maybe this will become a regular blog feature...

the good.

running through the airport like a crazy person because my flight was departing in two minutes only to arrive at my gate and learn that it was delayed by twenty.  the travel gods were smiling on me.
...
finding a score of a deal on belt on sale at nordstrom for $5.90
...
finishing "the girl in the dragon tattoo" after only 9 months of plane rides.
...
...
diet-coke-out-the-nose laughter with clients
...
earning 1,000 skymiles for two-38 minute flights
...
discovering the rusted sun pizzeria
...
discovering the amazing salt lake hardware building
...
...
after a brief lull... cruise planning has commenced!
...
exchanging lame lipstick for a cool new shade called "vegas volt"

the bad.

breaking my own cardinal rule by chipping all of the sparkle polish off my finger tips.
...
flinging 32 oz. of diet coke across the waiting room to the oil change place when the door caught my sleeve.
...
watching an ex-flame shamelessly SHAMELESSLY hit on my best friend sittingrightnexttome.
...
driving home in a borrowed car with a little bit of a tear welling up in my eye. but just a little.
...
feeling the sting of guilt while watching the social network and erica albright says, "the internet's not written in pencil, mark.  it's written in ink. but it didn’t stop you from writing it…as if every thought that tumbles through your head was so clever it would be a crime for it not to be shared…" oops.

the ugly.

the hysteria on the other end of the line when my sweet beth called to tell me her dad just passed away... mysteriously and suddenly.  and the numb helplessness i've felt all week long.  i wish the people my people love would quit dying so suddenly and tragically.
