The skate facility will take the them approx 7-8 months to complete.
The funding for this was raised in part by the local rotary with assistance from the Sir John Logan Campbell Trust.

"From the designs I have seen this looks AMAZING! Building a skatepark like this would be massive news in New Zealand and also the world! It would be one of the best skateparks worldwide putting Mangawhai on the map. Discussions about plans to demolish the existing Dunedin Skateboard Park by 2016 and rebuild on a new site have been floating around for sometime now, The council has earmarked the site of the city's skateboard park, between Thomas Burns St and the Dunedin Railway Station, as the site for a major roading realignment by 2016! Lets hope that Dunedin Council listens to what people want in regards to a better skate park,After the money they put into the stadium whats $500,000 really... An a park would get more use!
Or maybe we should just move here,Sounds like a great place!!
