weekend shopping report.

i realize i live in fantasyland.
sometimes i get wind of these kinds of comments from people who read my blog.
that's only because i work really hard and my income is all my own.
in the case of this weekend, it's also because i cashed in on a combo of birthday gift cards + black friday weekend discounts.

in a funny twist of fate, i ended up at soel boutique in orem on saturday. my shopping partner accidentally walked out of the store with this bangle around her wrist.  didn't notice it until a couple hours later, just before closing.  it was so charming, when we went back to return it, i had to make it right and buy one for myself.

aaaaaaand anthropologie.
when i read other people's blogs about their love for anthropologie, i can't help but roll my eyes.
sounds so trite... so expected... to love that place. right?
it's not like i love it... then continue onto forever 21 for all my purchases.  sick.
really. i love it and i shop it. so i get to love it.
after a marathon fitting room party at anthro {seriously, 18 items.  at least an hour later}, i walked away with a few goods.
sounds odd, but i mean it in the purest way - the dressing room experience is waaaay better with a bestie.
for whatever reason, clothes fit better. magically, i'm a size 6 when jen's in the dressing room.

now, the ridiculous.
i tried on 7 pairs of jeans. all but one of them from the sales room.
and none of them were as perfect as the full price joe's.
once you've tried on a perfect pair of jeans, there's no compromising... and that's that.

there's also no compromising on a little kick of class.
like this house jacket.
and bonus. on sale.

a candle devoted to crisp, clean linens.  a smell so good i want to bite it.
and bonus.  on sale.

and a new plate for the plate wall.
nothing about this plate translates on the screen.  it's shiny.  mirror-esque.
and bonus. on sale.

... because everyone needs a butter dish.
but i've never bothered buying one.
ridiculous, yes. but the butter situation at my house has always been exactly that - a situation.
but now it has a home... and it's secretly a really small casserole dish.

and if all of that wasn't enough, i tried on this coat at soel... and i really felt like it needed me.
it was perfect.

and then i remembered my massive coat collection at home
and the birthday coat my mom bought me last month.
and so i walked.

shameless, material-loving post: done.
