today at the spa...

i went with leeann today to get manicures and pedicures.  we were having a lovely time, chatting, catching up and being pampered.  then they asked us if we wanted the dead skin removed from our heels...you know where they take the razor and scrape all the skin off....anyway we both said yes as usual and continued to chat.  just as leeann was telling me that you're not really supposed to have this done, she got a HUGE surprise.  the poor girl accidentally cut her and we are not just talking a little cut!  we are talking blood GUSHING into the water!!  so as if that weren't bad enough, the girl then runs outside and comes running back in with a band-aid and a CIGARETTE!  she took the smoke apart and shoved the tobacco IN TO the cut!!  i am laughing as i write this because it sounds so crazy!  but it happened!  they said it would help the bleeding stop...it didn't.  it kept bleeding.  the poor girl was crying, leeann was wincing and trying to put her foot above her head to make the bleeding stop, the owner was angry and i was laughing.  not laughing at her...just laughing at the whole situation.

we took the big old band-aid off and tried to clean it up a bit.  the cotton is all stuck in it now and we tried to pull it out but it started bleeding again....i feel that maybe she should have taken the owner up on that ride to the hospital!  yikes!  leeann's biggest concern:  how is she going to run this week?!  my biggest concern:  when is this damn thing going to stop bleeding and how are we going to get the cotton out of the wound?  yeesh!  this trip to the spa will go down in history!
