kids DO NOT like change!

this morning i was having "one of those days" with my hair.  it was driving me nuts.  so i decided to put it up...as much as i can put up my short hair.  i just pulled back a few pieces from my face and braided them so that all my hair is off my face.  this change has NOT been well received.  here are some comments that i have had so far this morning (and it's only 9:00!):

grade 5 student #1:  *giggling* good morning ms. emily *turns to talk with her friends and "discretely" points at me*

grade 3 student:  *in his ralph wiggum voice* ms. emily, what did you do to your hair?!

grade 1 student:  ms. emily did you do that to your hair because it's movember?

grade 5 student #2:  um, ms. emily did you cut your hair?

grade 5 student #3:  your hair looks ugly today ms. emily.  

me:  that's not very nice!  

student: *5 minutes later* your hair does not look as beautiful as yesterday.

grade 5 student #4:  your hair looked really beautiful yesterday ms. emily

i guess i know what i WON'T be doing to my hair ever again.  the change is clearly too much to handle!
