better a month late than never!

before christmas comes...i should probably write about halloween!  it is my favourite day of the year after all!  and since it happened at our school on october 22, if i get this posted today, then it will have taken me less than a month! YAY!

so halloween was great as usual.  at school i organized a costume parade with prizes for best costumes as well as a door decorating contest and trick or treating within our divisions.  the day started with the kids arriving to really loud halloween music in the foyer (that was not the plan but since they are crazy that day anyway, it worked).  the doors were all looking SPOOKtacular and were judged by our head of school and principal - i would not have wanted that job! and then we all met in the courtyard to check out the other costumes and find out who the winners of the door decorating contest were.

mr. jeremy, dressed as a CIS student was the emcee of the event and got everyone excited and involved.  each class paraded around the courtyard, proudly showing off their costumes and enjoying some halloween tunes.  next up were the prizes for each division for the door decorating and ms. emily's class won funniest door!!  WOOT!  except my kids were kinda mad cause they were going for scary but i told them we would take what we could get!  hahaha

oh, i forgot to mention that kelly dressed up as an 80's rocker and won best teacher costume!!  please take note of his t-shirt...i painted it!  ya that's right.  i was dressed as a cave woman...one of the other women on staff asked if i was wearing a wig...hmmm....we also had teachers dressed as the paper bag princess, a hippie, a boxer, a pirate, a spelling bee, something really scary....a zebra, a leopard, and a cat.  lots of great costumes!  but i think my favourite was one of my girls from last year who was dressed as the cat in the hat!  TOO cute!

it was a great day.  jeremy did a great job as emcee until he called me up in front of the whole school and got me with an ongoing joke that we have.  (he even "bazinga-ed" me...if you watch the big bang theory you will appreciate that, if you don't, you wont understand but know that my face was red and everyone was laughing even though they didn't really know what was going on hahaha thanks j!!)  and everyone was really happy with how it all turned out.  the owners of the school were very happy as were the head of school and principal and i think all the teachers and students.

then we stuffed the kids with candy and sent them home for a week long holiday!  well played!
anyway, enjoy the pics.  sorry it's so late.  but that's how i roll these days :)
