a funny thing happened at the zoo.

please excuse the crappy control-print screen quality photos...

the zoo came a day after disneyland.  and by the end of day two in theme park land, we were a little bit exhausted with the involuntary photo sessions.  the zoo, especially.  lots of mandatory photo opps... before we were allowed to board the tour bus, before we passed into the panda exhibit, yada. by the time we jumped off the train/saw the pandas, the picture was available in a snow globe, key chain, 8x10'... for, like $49.95.  silly.

so, we - the loopy, silly travelers - thought it would be a little bit funny to close our eyes at the count of three. a twist on the classic "pretend like you're asleep" game we played in college.
{it never got old.}

somewhere between two and three i started a laughing train.  i managed to keep the straighest face of them all.  ally looks like she's about to burst.  julie peeked at JUST the right second, and greg looks like the happiest, diet coke sipping sleeper ever.

when we got out of the exhibit, the pictures were there... larger than life.  the silly zoo employee says to me, "did you guy mean to close your eyes?  that's weird."

whatever.  mandatory photo sessions are weird.

a day later, i checked on-line for the photo... but the code was invalid.  i thought for SURE they erased the picture thinking it was a do-over.  such a bummer.  it was such a bloggable event.

trouble shooting... emailing... begging... pleading...

i got an email this morning apologizing for the hiccup.  apparently, our photo was attached to someone else's.  how funny it must have been for these three zoo-going asians...

who, when they checked their photos online, found three sleeping and one bright-eyed americans.

almost worth buying the holiday card set and sending to all my peeps this year.
