a.fishermans.experience.

Luke and I took Friday to the beach yesterday - Friday is her day so we always try and do something fun with her! She loves the beach, running around and swimming in the sea - it's a great way to get rid of some of her energy. While we were on the beach, the local fisherman were bringing in their fishing nets and it was a very interesting thing to witness. It took them about an hour to pull in the entire net which takes up a long portion of the beach. It is amazing to see everyone in the family working; from the young sons to the old grey grandpa - they are all involved and each have their own duties that need to be done. The whole thing is rather sad because they killed about 200kg's of bait fish and in the end they only caught 3 decent fish - 2 small barracuda and one medium sized Giant Trevally. And these fisherman have been doing this everyday for most of their lives, it's their livelihood. Fishing with nets is illegal all around the world, except Oman and it does so much damage to the sea and the eco systems.
