palisades reservoir.

how did i miss this day in my blogging??

a day on the lake was all i really wanted to make my summer complete. no big vacations this summer {two weeks off in jan and feb took care of my vacationing for the year. boo.}

there's something to be said about a private dock. no towing, loading, yada, of the boat. when the lake calls, you go. it's just one of the perks of being related to really awesome people.

first, a story:

we waterskiied on saturday. saturday night lara realized she left her camera on the boat. sunday morning, we drove to the lake {45 minutes through victor, swan valley, and the dam store} to palisades. there's nothing like a little sunday morning teaser on the dock.

we unsnapped just enough of the boat to get in...

christian the great and lara searched for the camera
{and came out with one camera and three fresh cold sodas. bonus}

success.

it was the PERFECT day for the lake.
.... or for church back in town. hmmph.

but there's no sense in wasting a trip to the lake without a little bit of fun.
this is the tramp where christian nearly tackled me to my wet, watery death.

but. the real day on the lake.

once again - the private dock. nothing expresses the awesomeness/hassle-free-ness of this.

these clouds teased us all day.
ALL. DAY. LONG.

between cloud bursts, christian and lara skied.
i sported a sweet orange flag.

we gave up on waterskiing entirely and took up lounging. with fresca, cookies, grapes, and potato chips.

for the record, my dad's not the only one with an opinion about my future spouse.
uncle larry says the future mr. bennion MUST waterski {wakeboarding earns half credit} and speak spanish.

lara and i scheduled an appointment to head back august 14th. crossing our fingers for better cooperation with the clouds and warmer water. whos' in?
