my phone
{my precious, perfect, all access, can-do-anything-i-tell-it-to, incredible phone}
started to lose its mind over the weekend.
by saturday morning,
by saturday morning,
i could pull the battery from the back
cross my fingers extra tight
turn it back on
and watch it cycle between
white and green "htc: quietly brilliant" screen
and the
"verizon wireless" red shwooshy screen
over.and.over.and.over.again.
i waited.and.waited.and.waited. at the verizon store for someone to do something beyond my smarts to magically made it work again.
they always do.
trusty network.
but this time, the girl came back with bad news:
"it can't be reset. we'll have to get you a new handset. but it's on back order. i can rush you one in 3-5 days, but the order won't be processed until monday."
i fell over.
my response?
"look. i know there are a lot of really important people out there... like, more important than me. but i need my phone. it's really important."
of course it's a convenient facebook device
it even lets me keep up on my google reader
not to mention my utter reliance on the calendar. oy.
but i get a lot of calls on that bad boy

but i get a lot of calls on that bad boy
IMPORTANT calls
the world would crumble without 24/7 access to my ear.
{it's true. ask my clients.}
and i could not live without it.
there, i said it.
i love technology.
i rely on it.
i craaaave it.
i am gen y.
