nice.

i have been proclaiming a singular piece of wisdom since i was a 15 year old sophomore in high school. just one simple fact. i'd like to share it with you today:

nice is not enough.

it's true for all aspects of life, but i'm especially referring to boys.

i can't speak for dudes, but in the girl realm - when people talk about setting me up on a date, often times the first word coming out of their mouth is "he's nice." i realize my bar is set high {justifiably so, i believe}. i'm not asking for someone to tell me that the man on the other side of the curtain is rich, attractive, and self-sufficient all at once. maybe if there was a single word used to describe all of those things, i'd like that answer. but until then - my thoughts on the matter hold true.

nice is not enough.

everybody is nice. {most everybody. i've met some serious b-words} upon first greeting - especially in the dating sense - everybody is nice.

and although nice is a noble quality n' all - it's not going to carry us through to eternity. i, humbly, request more to a man than "nice"...
